To mark the 50th anniversary of the HWG LU, the International Affairs department and the Transatlantic Institute are offering an international lecture series with selected partner universities in the anniversary year. This is supported by DAAD and BMBF. The third guest lecture in this series took place on Thursday, 17.06.2021:
In the course of the event, Ms. Melissa Brode, Deputy Dean and Director of Graduate Programs of the College for Business, first introduced the University of West Florida (UWF) in Pensacola and gave an insight into the cooperation and in particular the orientation of the successful MBA program with the Transatlantic Institute.
The Transatlantic Institute of the HWG LU under Prof. Gerhard Raab as Managing Director and Managing Director Kathrin Paul has a long-standing partnership and deep friendships with the UWF, which have been kept alive with many mutual visits. UWF was founded in 1963 and currently has five academic colleges. It offers a variety of Bachelor's and Master's degree courses as well as doctoral programs.
The introduction of the university was followed by an exciting financial lecture by Prof. Dr. Kwan-Chen Ma (Professor of Finance) on the topic of "How to Pick the Next Facebook?" The lecture took a close look at the interplay between business strategy and share performance and also provided a lot of information on various share categories and returns.
We would like to thank Prof. Dr. Kwan-Chen Ma and Ms. Melissa Brode for their commitment and for the exciting lecture.
We would like to take this opportunity to draw your attention to the next lecture in the winter semester 2021. On October 7, 2021, Prof. Dr. Christoph Goro Kimura (Professor of Sociology) from the renowned Sophia University in Tokyo will give a lecture on "Flight and Expulsion after the Second World War in Asia and Europe".
