Automation and digitalization are leading to a rapid change in task and job profiles - the future world of work requires different technical and interdisciplinary skills. Many employees therefore need a different set of digital and non-digital key qualifications.
These include business management, change and project management as well as digital skills. Expertise in complex data analysis and collaborative work is therefore becoming a central interface skill in companies across industries and functional areas. In addition, traditional skills such as problem-solving competence and entrepreneurial action as well as social skills in the form of discussion and negotiation skills, coaching skills, team and employee leadership and the ability to tell convincing stories are at the top of the list of interdisciplinary skills in demand. The newly designed MBA distance learning course Digital Finance, Strategy & Accounting, which will start in this form for the first time in the coming summer semester 2020, takes these current challenges of the working world 4.0 into account.
Distance learning students prepare for the demands of the job market with in-depth knowledge of general management, finance and accounting. They learn to develop and implement corporate strategies - for the first time, the new specialization Digital Transformation and Corporate Management is available to choose from. Here, for example, students acquire knowledge about the management of digital companies through digitalization initiatives, artificial intelligence, blockchain applications and the use of big data concepts in decision-making processes and modelling. Social skills and leadership know-how round off the study concept.
The distance learning course is designed for five semesters and consists of eight basic modules with elective options and two specializations to choose from: "Accounting & Financial Markets" and "Digital Transformation & Corporate Management". The course can also be completed as a certificate course. In this case, distance learners choose their preferred modules from the MBA curriculum. If they later decide to study for the MBA, the coursework and fees they have already completed will be credited.
The part-time distance learning program is run by the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society in cooperation with the zfh - Zentrum für Fernstudien im Hochschulverbund. Interested parties can apply online from November 18, 2019 to January 15, 2020 at: www.zfh.de/anmeldung
